Idies is an association law 1901 which is aimed at working in favour of an economic and social quality information, independent and pluralist. Idies offers to gather all actors who contribute to transmit economic and social culture as well as all those - firms, labour unions, associations, etc. - who share conviction that economic and social questions must be put in the middle of democratic deliberation.
These first meetings will unite the members and support of the institute since its foundation, around four main themes:
- Education, training: what economic and social culture to transmit?
The creation of Codice manifested the will of the authorities to develop the economic culture of Frenchmen. What are stakes today at the level of the initial training? How to articulate scientific approach of economy and of society and discovery of the realities of job and of the firm in their diversity?
- Is information given by French public statistics sufficient to feed a debate informed on the state of economy and of society?
Does statistics put in the disposition of the public give a pertinent and current enough information on the state of the French society? Is it necessary to bring some change in the device of gouvernance of statistical institutions? How to improve links between organisms producers of studies and of statistics, media and the public?
- What puts for the different absorbing parts in the firm?
Shareholders, managers, representatives of the wage earners, citizen's organisations, State and regions with a measure of autonomy: how to link all the absorbing parts to the firm so as to bring it into service of innovation and collective ease?
- Put economic and social questions in the middle of democratic debate
The political journalism concentrates its activity today on tactical questions while the economic journalism tends to station in the monitoring of strategies of firm and of financial stakes, abandoning socioeconomic questions. How to replace economic and social questions in the middle of debate?
