A majority of Frenchmen (68 %) trust in associations, much more than in firms and in authorities, to act efficiently on the effects of crisis, according to an opinion poll CSA published on Tuesday.
"In the present-time, to act efficiently facing difficulties caused by crisis", 68 % polled persons tell trust in associations, against 29 % which do not trust in them, according to this inquiry, accomplished for Chorum (mutual insurance company and foresight), co-operative Credit (bank), Maif (mutualiste underwriter) and who must be introduced during the 4th national forum of associations and foundations organised on November 5th, 2009 in Paris.
The "initiatives of the citizens come then", approved by a large majority by 65 % of polling (against 31 % which do not trust in them). Firms come far behind, with 46 % of polling which trust in them (against 52 %). Labour unions and authorities are returned practically back to back, with respectively 40 % and 38 % Frenchmen who trust in them (against 58 % and 60 %).
A majority (55 %) of Frenchmen also think that associations have no necessary financings to complete their missions successfully, against 41 % who think of the opposite. Without big surprise, 59 % of polling (against 39 %) estimate "that it would be necessary that private donations to associations augment" in this period of crisis. However, 67 % questioned persons do not give more to associations and either do not plan to make it. In the comparing, 15 % declare to make it already and 18 % envisage it.
Opinion poll by telephone on September 24th and 25th to 1 18-year-old old persons and more (method of quotas).
