
The CPCA (Permanent Conference of Associative Coordinations) and APRIL (the national association of promotion and of defence of free software) publish the analysis of the questionnaire Associations, computer science and free software .
As part of a partnership CPCA-APRIL, both organisations had thrown in October, 2008 an inquiry aiming at surrounding better the manners of the French associations in relation to computer science in general and to free computer science especially.
This inquiry into the current practices of associations in computer domain had several objectives: identify needs, spot main lack, estimate the penetration of free software (notability and usage) and allow so to offer tracks of actions (pedagogic kit, adaptation of existent software, launching of plans).
We publish an analysis of accepted answers: read the analysis of the questionnaire Associations, computer science and free software (format PDF, 27 pages).
This synthesis of the questionnaire thrown at the end of 2008 for associations allows from now on to specify the directions of the working party " Libre Association " of APRIL and to surround better the profiles of associative structures and their needs. Indeed, thanks to this study, the working party is going to begin the second stage of plan which will consist, between other one, in answering associations better by guiding them towards adapted free software. . This action was led as part of the working party " Libre Association " of APRIL which aims at sensitising the associative world and at accompanying it towards free software. Objective is the progressive installation of a portal around free software and from associative world which will notably introduce analyses of current practices in associations, experiments of broadcasting of free software, as well as actors of the world of the free and existent solutions. This plan has the support of foundation Charles Leopold Mayer as the progress of the man.

Regarding APRIL
Pioneer of free software in France, APRIL is since 1996 a major actor of democratisation and of broadcasting of free software and of standards opened to the general public, professionals and to institutions in the French-speaking space. She also watches, in numerical epoch, to sensitise opinion on danger of exclusive taking over of information and of knowledge by private interests.
The association is constituted more than 5 400 user members and producers of free software.
